  1. Welcome to Aporia!
  2.  
  3. Aporia is a powerful object oriented user interface for Windows 2.x and
  4. 3.0.  It lets you organize your work simply and clearly by providing a
  5. variety of advanced features that make its icon interface really work.
  6.  
  7. The heart of Aporia is the concept of tools.  A tool is not just a
  8. pretty picture, it also has enhanced abilities.  It can be dropped onto
  9. another to be run, or chained together to form a new tool.  A tool can
  10. store other tools letting you run multiple programs with one mouse
  11. click.  A tool can size and position the programs it runs.  And, tools
  12. are fully integrated into a powerful file management scheme.

  14. Windows 3 is great and Aporia is a powerful enhancement to the Windows 3
  15. environment.

  18. Aporia Can Do Things That The File And Program Manager Can't.

  22. INSTALLING and RUNNING Aporia
  23. -----------------------------

  25. From the Aporia floppy disk run the program:
  26.   SETUP_AP.EXE  The Setup program for Aporia. It installs and sets up
  27.                 Aporia for first-time users and for those updating
  28.         from earlier versions of Aporia.
  29.  
  30. If this program is not present, copy the files below to your Windows
  31.  
  32. The files should include the following:
  33.  
  34.   SETUP_AP.EXE  The Setup program for Aporia. This program copies Aporia
  35.                 to your Windows directory, and for Windows 3 users
  36.         installs a library of images and can make Aporia your
  37.         shell (replacing the Program Manager).
  38.  
  39.   APORIA.EXE    The Aporia executable program.
  40.  
  41.   APLIB.EXE     Aporia dynamic link library.
  42.  
  43.   IMAGEMKR.EXE  Create Aporia icons with this tool.
  44.  
  45.   APORIA.MAN*    This is the Aporia manual text. This file
  46.                 contains everything you need to use Aporia. The
  47.                 printed version, available with the $50 registration,
  48.                 is fully illustrated.

  50.   APORIA.INT    This is the tutorial section of the manual in
  51.                 Microsoft Write format.  It takes you step by step
  52.                 through the basic operation of Aporia. It is available
  53.                 online when you double-click on the Help Tool, which is
  54.                 the icon with the question mark.

  57.   NOTES.TXT     The default Aporia note file.
  58.  
  59.   CHANGES.TXT*  A list of changes in this release.

  61.   AP_READ.ME*   This important information text that you are currently
  62.                 reading. Always read this file first.

  64.   ORDER.TXT     The Order Form for Aporia. Please use this form when
  65.                 you order.

  67.   AIF_WIN3.EXE    A self-extracting archive of Windows 3 Aporia icon images.

  73. Note that some of the above files (marked with *) are user manual and
  74. introductory text. If you are short on disk space, you might want to
  75. delete them, from your Windows directory after you have become
  76. acquainted with Aporia.
